Battenkill Valley Chocolate Milk

This chocolate milk was delicious! Creamy, a good amount of chocolate, and a proportional amount of sugar, not making it overly sweet. For 16oz, its 420 calories, 18g of fat, 56g of sugar, 28 of which are added, and 18g of protein. It is produced and bottled in Salem, NY, only about a 4 hour drive from where I purchased it in Brooklyn, so I like that it is a local product. The ingredients are milk, sugar, cocoa processed with alkali, dextrose, corn starch, salt, carrageenan, and pure vanilla. They could improve this by using organic ingredients. Also, on their website, there is no indication as to the welfare of their animals, or if they're grass-fed or pasture-raised. Overall the flavor is delicious, I like that it comes from a local family farm, but I wish the ingredients were organic, the dextrose and carrageenan left out to make the product more natural, and switching their practices to grass-fed, pasture-raised cows for not only higher milk quality but better animal welfare if they aren't already doing this.
